4 Bad Foods You Should Be Eating
Every day we are bombarded by advice about diet and which foods are good for our health. But scientists say you shouldn’t take all food advice for granted. Many foods are classified as bad for our health that are actually quite beneficial. Don’t starve yourself! Enjoy food! Here are some “bad” foods you should add to your diet:
1. Peanut Butter
Belief: Too many calories and too much fat makes you fat, too.
Truth: Peanut butter is a good source of protein and fiber, which satiate you and are thus ideal for losing weight. It contains healthy fats, magnesium, vitamin E, copper, arginine, and folate that fight cardiovascular disease. It is rich in potassium, which is beneficial for two reasons: The more potassium you consume, the more sodium gets excreted through your urine, countering the evil effects of sodium. And potassium helps relax your blood vessel walls, which helps lower blood pressure. Buy natural peanut butter because others contain evil ingredients such as sugar, corn syrup, and hydrogenated oils.
Belief: Contains huge amounts of cholesterol and saturated fat, so should be avoided by those with heart problems.
Truth: Beef is a very rich source of protein, healthy fats, zinc, phosphorus, iron, and vitamin B complex. Thanks to its great mineral composition, beef helps strengthen the immune system and prevents blood-vessel damage. Iron deficiency and zinc deficiency are common today in American men, so beef can be good for you. I would even dare to say that eating chicken will make you weak, and you’re better off eating red meat. Meat-eaters have approximately 30 to 40 percent more testosterone than those on a vegetarian diet. Even Men’s Health Magazine declared that the best way to increase testosterone is by eating red meat.
Belief: A high-glycemic food that raises blood sugar levels.
Truth: Potatoes are a nutrient-rich food that has 2.5 fewer carbohydrates than bread. They contain complex carbohydrates that satiate you more than simple carbohydrates such as sugar. Potatoes contain a vast spectrum of nutrients ranging from vitamin C and vitamin B to folate, potassium, magnesium, and iron.
Molecules in potatoes known as kukoamines have been shown to reduce blood pressure. Be sure to eat the skin of the potato, too, because it has lots of phytochemicals and vitamins that are good for lowering bad cholesterol (LDL) and keeping your arteries in good condition. Because potatoes are high in fiber, their consumption can be beneficial for digestive problems. Be sure to buy only organic potatoes because non-organic potatoes are loaded with pesticides. In addition to red meat, potatoes are known as a STRONGMAN food.
4. Dark Chocolate
Belief: Too much fat and sugar. It’s delicious so it must be bad for you.
Truth: Dark chocolate boosts nitric oxide, which as we’ve discussed previously is a friend to your erections. The cocoa found in dark chocolate is good for your heart and lowers your blood pressure. There are so many benefits in the cocoa found in dark chocolate that it requires a special newsletter. It has a calming effect, it’s a brain booster, it increases insulin sensitivity, it’s good for arterial health and skin, it’s an effective stress reducer – too many benefits to list here. Look for chocolate with the highest COCOA content, and you’ve found a true superfood.
